My Journey

Through my professional journey I have come to understand the significance of fulfilling my social responsibility and utilizing my emotional intelligence to meaningfully support not only my own pursuits but those of my peers, co-workers, and entrepreneurs.

Working for Local Businesses

Frontrunners Victoria

Frontrunners was founded by passionate local runners who were looking to give back to their communities in a meaningful way.

Running is a passion of mine. It helps me clear my head and refocus. This job has not only given me the ability to continue to pursue this passion but has provided me with a community of people who share it with me.

Working at Frontrunners part-time through out my undergrad is what has ignited my interest in social responsibility and uniting people through the pursuit of an active lifestyle.

Working for Non-Profits

YMCA Calgary & Calgary Youth Employment Centre

I worked for the YMCA for three summers as their program hiring coordinator.

While recruiting I worked with Calgary’s Youth Employment Centre, which provides disadvantaged youth with interview and job experience. Through this partnership I sought to contribute to other's professional development. Regardless of the interview outcome, I provided feedback to each candidate on their resume and helped them to develop interview techniques.

It is through this where I developed the belief that part of my success comes from contributing and supporting the success of those around me.

Working for Tech Start Ups

Codeproof Technologies & Bench Co.

I became involve in digital marketing in the tech industry during the early months of remote work; a stage of transition for many businesses. From working in the customer facing side of the industry, I was part of the effort to provide a service that gave people the functionality of remote device management, as well as online financial management to assist with navigating our new reality.

Being in the epicentre of such a profound shift in the professional landscape helped me to acknowledge my desire to take on positions that are relevant to current social issues in society and allow me to contribute their betterment in a meaningful way. Working for start ups has allowed be the freedom to realize my potential and is where I have found myself working alongside  fellow problem solvers.

My Scripture

book 1.jpg

These two books, 'let my people go surfing' and 'Daring Greatly', have had a ground breaking influence on my outlook in both a personal and professional capacity.

Brené Brown's recognition of vulnerability and wholeheartedness as the core of a meaningful human experience has led me to develop my strengths in emotional intelligence and use this to make deeper connections with my peers and co-workers.

This appreciation for vulnerability and a passion based approach to business was equally relevant in 'let my people go surfing', written by the founder of Patagonia. Chouinard making his passion for environmentalism the corner-stone for his business strategy was my inspiration to incorporate my social misson and community involvement into the work that I do.
